RIVERSIDE, Ca. — Karen Bergh, an adjunct professor at California Baptist University and public relations practitioner, held a three-hour "hands-on" seminar on Friday for communications professionals to test-drive tools and techniques of social media. Bergh, a fan of Blogger, Twitter and Facebook, in particular, volunteered to teach the class at a computer lab at CBU, to help "demystify" social media for those public relations professionals in the Inland Empire who have yet to embrace the new technologies.
Using the new Presskitn online build-as-you-go beta newsroom service, Bergh demonstrated the ease with which today's PR pro's can establish a significant online presence, and create meaningful metrics for their publicity programs.
"Who knew?" Bergh quipped. "If you aren't sure whether you should try something new today, wait a day, and there will be another amazing new program or service for you to try that will equally blow you away!"
